iHanzim vs CNF Cantonese Romanization Utilisation & Stats
If Chinese literacy is your goal, iHanzim (Hanzi Master, iPad Edition) is the app to help get you there. iHanzim is an offline interactive visual dictionary and flashcard viewer for learning the relationships between Chinese characters, radicals, and compounds. It will help you learn Chinese and memorize hanzi faster. Seeing the relationships empowers your memory with the "system" behind the characters.
You can use English, French, German, or Russian word definitions, or English for Cantonese dialect. iHanzim also includes character mnemonics, historical development, study lists, and many ways to search. No internet connection is required to run after the app is installed and run for the first time, and no subscriptions are needed.
An in-app upgrade is required to access some of the functionality.

Lingo CNF is a free version of the definitive Cantonese Language Romanization input tool to assist speakers who struggle with keyboard text input and spelling. It can also be used as a great learning tool & dictionary- all contained within this single app on your device- on the go & when you need it- without the need for any type of data or wifi connection!!!
The app is completely free of ads and in-app purchases, and works exactly the same as the full version, except has limited functionality due to the app's smaller database of dictionary entries. Lingo CNF's dictionary is limited to approximately 8500 entries, while the full version has approximately 10700 entries.
INPUT
• Enter Yale, Jyutping or English words using the standard English keyboard.
• Lingo uses a simplified style of romanized language input so NO need to enter special diacritical marks, unusual characters, numbers or even proper spacing.
• Quickly adopt the technique of sounding out the words you wish by typing as you go, recalling either the Yale or Jyutping spelling, or learning a few special entry shortcuts.
CHOOSE
• Select the word or phrase you wish from a selectable list that automatically updates and refines your list from each letter you input into the Lingo app.
• The Lingo CNF app has a dictionary of 8500 entries to help you find the correct word or phrase
CONSTRUCT
• Selected elements are transferred to the body of the screen for final inspection.
• Construct your own sentences and phrases by stringing together as many separate elements as you like.
• Lingo has tools such as Undo/Redo, Repeat, and Direct Pass to help assist in the input process.
• Lingo CNF also has special menus that help you easily find classifier words and numbers
COPY
• Copy your creation to the device's clipboard using Lingo's Copy button.
COMMUNICATE
• Use Lingo alongside your favorite messaging, email or social media platform to communicate with loved ones, friends, co-workers or anyone else. The possibilities are endless!
