There are three main properties of a wave: velocity, wavelength, and frequency.
[v] Wave velocity is the measure of how fast a wave propagates in a given medium. Its unit is meters per second.
[λ] Wavelength is the distance over which the shape of the wave repeats. It depends on the medium through which the wave travels.
[f] Frequency of a wave refers to how many times (per a given time period) the particles of a medium vibrate when the wave is passing through it. The unit of frequency is Hertz, or 1/second.
Wavelength Formula:
f = v/λ
Where:
λ (Lambda) = Wavelength in meters
v = Wave velocity
f = Frequency (Hz)
