Calculate Alcohol by Volume vs Refracto Uso & Estadísticas
Calculate Alcohol by Volume (ABV) with only a few taps and track your brews or batches over time. This app is idea for home brewers of beer, wine, and cider! Whether you're a seasoned brewmaster or just starting your brewing journey, this app makes it trivial to calculate Alcohol By Volume (ABV) and track your brewing progress over time.
What is Alcohol By Volume (ABV)? ABV, or Alcohol By Volume, is a crucial measurement in the brewing world. It represents the percentage of alcohol in a beverage, specifically, the ratio of alcohol volume to total liquid volume. Knowing the ABV of your brew is essential for understanding its strength and ensuring you achieve the perfect balance in flavor and aroma.
The Role of Original Gravity (OG) and Final Gravity (FG): The app simplifies the process of calculating ABV by leveraging two essential measurements - Original Gravity (OG) and Final Gravity (FG).
Original Gravity (OG): When you begin the fermentation process, the OG represents the density of the wort (unfermented beer or wine) before yeast starts converting the sugars into alcohol. The OG is a vital indicator of the potential alcohol content of your brew. Higher OG values indicate a higher concentration of fermentable sugars, resulting in a stronger brew.
Final Gravity (FG): As fermentation progresses, the yeast consumes the sugars, converting them into alcohol and carbon dioxide. The FG measures the density of the beer once fermentation is complete. By comparing the FG with the OG, the app accurately calculates the ABV of your finished brew.
Key Features:
==========
Easy-to-Use ABV Calculator: With just a few taps, you can input your OG and FG values, and the app will instantly calculate the ABV of your brew, giving you an immediate sense of your brew's strength.
Create Brews and Batches: Organize your brewing adventures by creating individual brews or batches. Track each brew's details, OG, FG, and ABV. The app allows you to keep a detailed log of your brewing journey, empowering you to learn from past experiences and improve future batches.
ABV Tracking Over Time: You can effortlessly monitor the progression of ABV in your fermenting brews.
Start brewing like a pro today! Whether you're an amateur experimenting with homebrews or an avid craft brewer honing your skills, this app is a must-have in your brewing toolkit. Cheers!

Refracto is a user friendly tool for homebrewers that will help you to convert your refractometer measurements during a fermentation process from °Brix to °Plato and SG. It automatically compensates the alcohol effect during fermentation of your beer.
To use Refracto simply swipe to enter your original refractometer reading (from before fermentation) and the result of a current measurement. Refracto then immediately computes the following values:
- Original gravity in °Plato and SG
- Apparent final gravity in °Plato and SG
- Apparent attenuation
- Alcohol by volume
At any time you can switch between four different modes of computation:
- Standard
- Linear formula according Petr Novotný
- Quadratic formula according Petr Novotný
- Linear formula according Sean Terrill
- Cubic formula according Sean Terrill
Please note:
- In addition to this App you will also need a Refractometer with a Brix-scale.
- The supported input range for refractometer readings is 0 to 50 °Bx.
