Stoicism is a centuries-old philosophy perfected by great people like Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, Epictetus, Zeno, and more. It is famous for its practical way for life and resilient mental peace. In search of meaning and happiness, stoic philosophy has guided people for ages. Core idea of stoic philosophy is to make the best of what is in your control and not let anything outside control bother you, like opinions, weather, etc. It redefines happiness as internal exercise, that comes from balancing desires, thoughts, and actions. As Nassim Taleb says, “A Stoic is a Buddhist with attitude.” In modern times, stoicism has been adopted in psychological therapies like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) as well as many leadership courses, as it helps us understand and regulate emotions. A philosophy of leaders, stoicism helps you become fearless, kind, responsible and a critical thinker. Stoicism is a school of Ancient Greek philosophy, founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens BCE. According to Stoicism, the world is constructed in a reasonable, coherent, and beneficent way by a force known as the “Logos” (God, Providence, etc.). This means that everything that happens in life (except for what we control) has been ordained to happen for a particular reason, one that is good for ourselves or society. The “Logos” exists in the external world, but also within ourselves as our capacity for reason and virtue. If everything that happens is for a good reason, then it follows that we use our own reason and virtue to live in harmony with whatever that is. Stoicism provides a philosophical practice (meditations, exercises, etc.) to do just that. You’ll learn these practices in Stoic Nature. Our Mission? With a strong philosophical practice in place, our goal is to have you attain Eudaimonia, what the philosophers taught as “the good life”. WHY STOIC NATURE? By using our practical approach to mental health and wellness, which combines ancient wisdom and modern science, you will: • Become happier and more fulfilled • Attain peace of mind and mental clarity • Manage negative emotions and states of mind • Improve yourself and your life on a daily basis • Build positive and empowering belief systems • Set compelling and meaningful goals/visions • Become a more ethical and virtuous person • Live an examined and introspective life • Triumph over suffering and adversity PRIVATE AND SECURE All of your journal entries in Stoic Nature are automatically encrypted, which is a technical way of saying that they are 100% private.
