Service Connect: Service Connect of San Mateo County provides a range of services aimed at supporting former inmates as they re-enter the community. Service Connect is available to individuals who have served sentences for specific low-level offenses, who live or plan to live in San Mateo County, and who are enrolled in Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) or who served their sentence in county jails under the 1170h program. Please check with your Probation Officer to see if you qualify for Service Connect or other re-entry assistance. Service Connect is a collaboration between the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department, Correctional Health, Probation, Human Services Agency, and the San Mateo County Health. Our staff works across agency lines to reduce recidivism and connect clients with needed services. Our services include: Safety Net Services Kit - temporary emergency shelter; emergency food, clothing and transportation vouchers; personal hygiene kits; and assistance obtaining California identification documents. Case Management - assessments for financial benefits and health coverage; links to job training and employment; family re-engagement support; mental health and substance-abuse recovery referrals; and support in meeting personal and probation-related goals. Employment Services - the 550Jobs! program provides employment training and placement. Support Groups and Community Mentorship - weekly support groups for Service Connect clients; peer-to-peer mentoring; courses in Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), aimed at encouraging moral decision making; and recovery coaching for those in need of long-term recovery and wellness. Health Services - screenings and treatment for mental health issues, alcohol and drug dependency, and other health and wellness needs, including dental care. The division is also responsible for planning and conducting labor negotiations and implementing the resultant agreements. This mobile application was developed to provide managers, supervisors, and staff immediate access to information.
