NKMP KoalaCounter vs Nestor 2.0 Uso & Estadísticas
The NKMP Koala Counter app has been developed by the National Koala Monitoring Program to enable ecologists to conduct systematic surveys for koalas. Both single-count and double-count transects are supported. Transects can be mapped against satellite imagery, and photos of habitat/animals can be taken while surveying.
The app uses your phone/tablet's GPS hardware to track your location while you are conducting a survey. The app will continue to track your location as long as you have an active survey, even if you move the app to the background.
Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Nestor is an iPad app used for monitoring and mapping sea turtle nests in Australia. It uses the iPad's GPS hardware to accurately record the location of nests, enabling monitoring over time. Events such as depredation, inundation, and hatching can be recorded, allowing the user to determine risks and success rates at the end of the nesting season.
This app is free to use. There are no paid services or content, and users do not need to create an account. All data is stored locally on your device. Data can be exported as a .csv file for analysis in another program.
