The mission of the Rural Metro Fire – Knox Co. TN shall be to preserve life and property in the Knox County TN area and to promote fire prevention through public education.
We answer emergency calls throughout the year, ranging from minor medical problems to structure fires. We are a combination department made up of full time employees, part time employees and volunteers.
As a Fire department in Knox County TN we work hand in hand assisting other agencies in Knox County TN as needed to assure all Knox County TN residents are provided the best help possible.

Illinois Sheriffs' Association (ISA) Wellness is a complete stand alone self service support system designed specifically to support first responders and their families with the unique challenges our officers face. This app is presented by the Illinois Sheriffs Association to its first responders and their families. Self Assessments, crisis support contacts and tool-kits, leadership tools, health and wellness planning, best practices, guidebooks and agency specific support utilities are all included. Also included are resources specific to supporting first responders family and loved ones.
Anonymous agency wide sign-ons allows for anonymity when accessing all resources as are all self assessments.
Online Mental Health Screenings are provided in partnership with Mental Health America, the nation’s leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and promoting the overall mental health. Our online screening quickly assists users in determining whether they are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition.
