Quick guides provide essential information for HIV testing, pre‐exposure prevention (PrEP), post‐exposure prevention (PEP), rapid start of antiretroviral treatment (ART) for those testing HIV positive, and resources to help pay for HIV medications.
Easy‐to‐use, secure, clinical calculators and screeners for common co‐occurring conditions are provided, these include BMI, CrCl, FIB-4, PHQ-9, AUDIT-C, and others.
One-touch access to phone‐based, free, national clinician warmlines for expert support with HIV prevention and care, substance use, hepatitis C, and COVID‐19.
Local and regional contact information for AIDS Education and Training Center Program experts who offer free training and capacity building support for the clinical care team.
All app content is accessible without Internet access but can only be installed and updated when the device is connected to the internet.
AETC Care Tools is a project of the AETC National Coordinating Resource Center (NCRC) and funded by the HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Application Description: This application was developed with funding from the Northeast/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center Program and was designed for practicing clinicians to provide information on HIV medications and drug interactions with commonly co-prescribed psychotropic medications. The three tabs at the bottom of the application include: HIV-Psychotropic Interactions, Drug Metabolism, and Common Web Resources. The Common Web Resources tab contains links to external websites and phone numbers for information and national warmlines that provide clinical support with HIV care, substance use, Hepatitis C, and COVID‐19.
The data set for the drug interaction output for this application was developed using the Department of Health and Human Services Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents in Adults and Adolescents Living with HIV and other various sources. The application was developed and launched under the direction of VirologyEd Consultants, LLC.
