Nestor is an iPad app used for monitoring and mapping sea turtle nests in Australia. It uses the iPad's GPS hardware to accurately record the location of nests, enabling monitoring over time. Events such as depredation, inundation, and hatching can be recorded, allowing the user to determine risks and success rates at the end of the nesting season. This app is free to use. There are no paid services or content, and users do not need to create an account. All data is stored locally on your device. Data can be exported as a .csv file for analysis in another program. Warning: Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.
