Curious Edinburgh vs Where to Watch Birds Scotland Uso & Estadísticas

Are you interested in the fascinating and important scientific, medical and technological heritage of the city of Edinburgh? From Darwin to Dolly the sheep our app will allow you to explore some of the places associated with major scientific and medical discoveries and personalities, as well as some that are less famous, but deserve to be more widely known. We have sought out stories from the history of science in Edinburgh which will inspire, inform and amuse both visitors and residents of the city. You can visit the places in our tour in an order that suits you, although the numbering suggests an order that would be convenient for a visitor to the city on foot. We estimate that to see all the places on the tour should take approximately three hours, but you may choose to visit only those which are of special interest to you. You can create your own itinerary based on your interests and the amount of time you have available. The map will help you find the places and orientate yourself in the city. All the stops on our tour are within walking distance from Waverley station and the city centre, although for a few of the more distant ones some visitors may prefer to use Edinburgh’s excellent bus services. Find birdwatching sites across Scotland, including RSPB, Scottish Wildlife Trust, local and national nature reserves, as well as National Trust for Scotland properties and others. This easy to use guide will help you prepare and ensure you get the most out of your next (or first!) birdwatching trip. For each location on the app, find out: • what birds to look for, where and when • how to get around the site • recent bird sightings (from BirdTrack) • how to get to the site with full navigation instructions • rare and unusual species that have been seen there • other wildlife spectacles to look for • accessibility Plus, help conservation by sending in your bird sightings via links in the app. You’ll get maps and information on over 500 bird species (from SOC’s landmark publication, The Birds of Scotland) and discover where these species are likely to be seen. You can use the core features of the app even without a signal. You can also save your favourite sites to go back to later. New birdwatching locations will continue to be added and existing ones updated as far as possible. The project has been financed by the SOC’s Birds of Scotland Fund – supporting ornithological publications and special projects in Scotland – with additional help from legacies to the Club and a donation from Glasgow Natural History Society.
