An authentic Yoga App, created by a teacher that has been living the yogi life style since 1993. A wealth of knowledge, authenticity and great understanding of the human body . The art and science of Yoga has brought many benefits to millions of people if done with an intelligent, systematic approach. Throughout the App the teacher follows vital principles such as “STILLNESS, UNDOING TENSION, INTENTION, FOCUS, RESPECTING BODY, CONNECTING TO CORE AND YIELDING TO EARTH. Neither the Breath nor the Spine will be compromised.
This Yoga system follows the five natural elements which reside everywhere including within ourselves. Important alignment techniques blended with the graceful flow of vinyasa practice allows practitioners to unfold naturally. The 5 elements of EARTH, WATER, FIRE, AIR and ETHER correspond to the yoga poses as follows:
EARTH: Standing poses on both or just one leg. They give you solidity and stability, which open and activate the base chakra. Energetically giving you a connection to earth, making you feel strong, secure and centered being able to cope and deal with life situation such as: where you stand in life and work.
WATER : Hips & Groins strengthening and releasing within the pelvic girdle. Your centre of all basic movements. It represents fluidity, flow and movement, sensuality, gracefulness and centering in the pelvic girdle.
FIRE : Balancings/Core work: Poses that increase you core strength as well as improving your balance. Twisting and poses where we rotate the spine to detoxify the digestive system. Here we also learn to balance on our arms not just on our legs. Energetically it represents will power, self-esteem, energy, assertiveness and transformation. How can you achieve what you want to achieve in life? Theses poses will give you inner strength and energy so you can cope with the daily challenges in life.
AIR : Backbends - Strengthening the back muscles by bending backwards and releasing the front body. Creating space for the lungs and heart so they function optimally. Energetically it represents compassion, love, breath, opening to joy and grace. Here is where we learn to find freedom in our sometimes rigid thinking patterns. Learning to surrender and letting go of past hurts and habits.
ETHER: Inversions: all elements stem from this one. Space was here first. We prepare our brain/mind for deeper meditations. To keep our brain and hormonal system functioning properly we do inverted postures meaning all poses where the head is lower than the heart. Such as shoulderstands, headstands with easy variations and handstands for those who love a challenge. Energetically it represents: vibration, creativity, sound and rhythm.
Separate categories for Breath Work, Meditations, Mudras, Chants and Philosophy so one can create their own practice depending on time available. Sometimes you just want the physical and sometimes you may just want the stillness practice. This app allows you to pick and choose in your own time.
