Music Ed is an intimate music education experience between parents/caregivers and their infant that is especially helpful for parents that do not believe they are musical, and can take a musical parent’s infants music education experience to the next level. Just as a child would learn the letters in a language, and then put those letters together to form words (which have meaning), and further put words together to communicate deeper meaning, Music Ed teaches children musical tones and tonal sequences so that the child can audiate and think musically. Infants learn music and language best through familiar human voices, and nothing can compare to the power of a parent’s voice (particularly the mother’s voice). Dr. Edwin Gordon’s Music Learning Theory teaches us that one of the best ways to increase an infant’s aptitude is for a parent to have one-on-one intimate time with their child singing in the various musical modes, and repeating tonal patterns for the child to audiate and explore in their minds. As caregivers share this experience with their child, Music Ed facilitates and creates an intimate musical learning connection, stimulates the parts of the infant’s brain that controls language, and increases the child’s ability in other academic areas. To use the application, an adult simply needs to focus on their intimate one-on-one quality time with their child, and sing to them, following along to the tonal sequences and matching the pitches that are programmed into the application.
