22lookup vs Hareni Usage & Stats

Just Added: New Click Interface (GUI) to simplify functionality. Try it! For the Jewish learner of Talmud Bavli, 22Lookup performs searches in Shas, Rashi, Tosfos, Tanach, and some Meforshim. Intuitive usage of Ain Mishpat Ner Mitzvah to bring up Rambam, Tur, Shulchan Aruch, and Smag. Gematria searches of Tanach. DEVELOPMENT STATUS Although more than three years of "spare" time has been devoted to the compilation of 22Lookup, it is still very much a work in progress. Dictionary lookups, incorporation of additional Masechtot to Ain Mishpat Ner Mitzvah, and many new features are still on the drawing board but have not been included in the coding due to time constraints. Nevertheless, it is believed that a sufficient core of features is now manifest and with this array of functions it is hoped that a user base will develop which will itself suggest directions for further growth. DESIGN GOALS For the learner of Talmud Bavli, many times it is desirable to view the complete pasuk and its context rather than the fragment provided in the Blatt. Similarly, viewing an Amud in a different Masechta or searching for a phrase in Rashi or Tosfos is also beneficial. These activities take time and are sometimes not performed due to the intensity of learning. 22Lookup aims to provide maximum return with minimal time investment to assist the learner. A manual is included which is packed with examples in hopes that the user is able to quickly master the man-machine interface and speedily begin reaping benefits. INCLUDED FUNCTIONS Display any of the following with/without English definitions any amud of Talmud Bavli Rashi / Tosfos on Talmud Bavli Mishnah in Talmud Bavli Chumash, Navi, Kesuvim The Rosh, the Rif, the Ritva, the Tur, the Shulchan Aruch The Beit Yosef, the Bach The Netziv, The Maharsha, The Mishnah Berurah The Rambam's Mishneh Torah Search for a "search string" in any of the above Every word of Shas has been indexed so that the search result will include the Amud, the line number on the Amud and the word number on the line to facilitate rapid location. The Hareni App is a tool for reading, creating and sharing Ury Diagrams (also called Talmud Diagrams) - a type of infographic that is used to represent opinions in the Gemara. A collection of Ury Diagrams can represent the entire Shakla V’tarya of a Sugya on a single page! Hareni helps you understand the Gemara quickly and accurately and aids in remembering an entire Sugya. The word “Hareni” is Hebrew for “Show me” because Ury Diagrams are information-dense visual representations of complex opinions such as the ones found in the Talmud. The Hareni App can generate and display one or two-dimensional Ury Diagrams. The diagrams take the form of a table where each cell in the table represents a specific case. Hareni condenses a single Shita on a whole range of cases to a single diagram. This makes it easier to follow the questions and answers and different opinions expressed in the Gemara. Gemara is often hard to learn because of the complexity of the opinions and arguments. Hareni provides a simple to use tool for reducing the complexity barrier that challenges students of the Talmud. The Hareni App is a graphics program that can create, import and export collections of Ury Diagrams grouped by Sugya. The output of the App is either Hareni files or graphic images consisting of a collage of individual Ury Diagrams arranged on a page. The user interface is an intuitive drag and drop system that allows individual Ury Diagrams to be created and for selected diagrams from a collection of diagrams to be freely arranged on a page together with freeform text.
