Your child will practice beginning sounds by matching a letter to a picture. The letters then spell out words for the child to read. Included in this app are lists for CVC words, CVCe words, and CCVC words. These lists will help your child blend the sounds together to discover the mystery words. The CCVC list has letter blends for your child to practice. For an extra challenge, lists are also included for sight words using the Dolch Pre-Primer through First Grade, the first 200 Fry Words and all 107 Zeno Words. The great thing about this app is you can also enter your own lists of words. this added ability to create your own lists gives your child a great opportunity to practice their spelling words, vocabulary words and any other list you chose to create! Mystery Words keeps track of your child’s scores. Data is collected by entering in a child’s name. It shows which letter they substituted by mistake by recording a score for correct verses incorrect letters. You can also see how many words they got correct and the percentage of correct words. You can then use the results to determine if your child needs more instruction on a certain letter sound. This app will enhance your child’s ability to segment words by finding beginning sounds and then blend the letters and sounds together to find mystery words in a fun and exciting way.
