The Truth Social social media service created by former President Donald J. Trump had one of its biggest days yet on Tuesday, as Trump turned himself in to face criminal charges – before publicly blasting prosecutors later in the day.
The indictment was also a big day for news websites – although not necessarily outside of the normal range.

- The Truth Social website, truthsocial.com, attracted over 479,000 visits on Tuesday, according to Similarweb estimates. That’s about 190% higher than an average day earlier this year. These statistics are for desktop and mobile web traffic from within the US and do not include the usage of Truth Social’s mobile apps.

Tuesday’s traffic total beat the previous recent peak of about 398,000 visits on March 18, when Trump himself first predicted that he was about to be arrested and called on supporters to rally to his defense.

The daily traffic pattern favored broadcasters, with CNN edging out the New York Times and Fox News also higher in the rankings than it is on a typical day.
