UK Prime Day October 2022

The following report from Ines Durand, Similarweb Senior Market Insights Manager, Retail & CPG highlights the effect Amazon Prime Day Early Access had on the UK Marketplace. Click on the following PDF link to see the report. Prime Day Oct’ 22 UK Report

Key Takeaways

  • The spike in views was lower than during the July 2022 event Prime Day; there were 36% fewer page views Oct. 22 than during July’s Prime Day. Consumers may be waiting for further savings on Black Friday.
  • While page views were up 210% on July 12 versus the average for the past three weeks, views to all categories were only up 140% on October 11, the first day of the event.
  • Consumers seem to be considering future inflation and loss of disposable income in their purchasing decisions; this is evidenced by sales of more expensive items in the Home & Kitchen, DIY & Tools and Health & Personal Care categories than during July.
  • Amid concern around rising energy bills, among the fastest-growing subcategories were thermostats, warm loungewear and thermal clothing. Homeware best sellers featured electric blankets.
